Our week so far....

Thursday 2nd March - Here are some of the exciting things we have been doing in Room 1...

Our mihi. This is how we introduce ourselves in te reo Māori. "Ko Miss Johnston toku ingoa" Here are Room 1's self portraits.
Top row: Tammee (one of our amazing teacher aide's)
  Bottom row: Jesse

Top row: Eva S and Meg
             Bottom row: Hunter and Latifah

Top row: Eva M and Taylor
        Bottom row: Prabhav and Harry

Handwriting practice: Sometimes we use the whiteboards! Look at these amazing Rr's

Playing Hanging Monkeys. This game is really good for fine motor skills and teamwork!

Blocks and Construction. Room 1 has lots of fun building and counting the blocks.

The Watermelon Number Game... to play this game you roll one dice and then have to find the number on the watermelon and cover it up with a counter. You can play it by yourself, with a partner, or in a group. This is a great game to work on number identification. Miss Johnston will be sending home a copy soon!

Some more Hanging Monkeys...
We use Ipads in class to help us learn words and practice our spelling, word work and maths.

Zac and Hunter making some jumps for their trucks.

Tania played Snakes and Ladders with us. It was lots of fun. Sometimes we got to climb further up the ladder (yay), but other times we landed on a snake and had to slide down the mat again.

Taylor left class and came back with a brand new pink cast on. We had to guess who had changed it and Eva S guessed correctly (the Doctor). Taylor is so happy with her new pink cast.

Some more amazing handwriting practice. Kk's

We have started Mandarin class with Annie. Today we learnt how to say "I am...."

We played pass the panda and when the music stopped, if you were holding the panda you had to introduce yourself.
